About Car Repair Atlas

Car Repair Atlas publishes independent car repair price guides for U.S. drivers, so you can budget for repairs and recognize a fair estimate.

Why we started

Repair estimates are hard to judge. One shop quotes $600 and another $1,200 for the same job, and few explain why. We built Car Repair Atlas to show clear, sourced price ranges and to split them into parts and labor, so you can see what drives the cost.

What we do

  • Compile national repair cost estimates from sources such as RepairPal, AAA, Consumer Reports and ConsumerAffairs, and cite them on every page.
  • Explain warning signs, what each job involves and what changes the price.
  • Publish price lists for brakes, AC, transmissions and more.
  • Offer free tools: a repair cost estimator and a repair-or-replace calculator.
  • Show the update date on every page and review our guides regularly.

What we do not do

  • We are not a repair shop and do not repair cars or sell parts.
  • We do not sell your information to shops or run a lead-generation service.
  • Advertising helps pay for the site, but advertisers have no input into our prices or content.

Who we are

Car Repair Atlas is run by a small independent web publishing team based in Ixtlahuaca, near Toluca de Lerdo, State of Mexico, Mexico. Our process is described in our editorial policy. You can reach us at agenciadedisenowebgenesis@gmail.com.
